Terms
Terms of use
The gist, in five lines
- AmidAmi is for organising parties with friends. Nothing else.
- You have to be at least 16.
- You stay responsible for what you post, and you respect other people.
- The kitty counts who paid what; no payment goes through AmidAmi.
- You can leave whenever you want, and everything is erased.
1. What AmidAmi is
AmidAmi is an app for organising parties with friends: create a party, invite, answer, share out the bring list and the rides, keep a kitty, chat, then keep the recap. It is free and carries no advertising.
The service is provided by the publisher named in the legal notice. These terms form the contract between them and you.
2. Who can use it
AmidAmi is for people aged 16 and over. By creating an account, you declare that you are that age. There is no automatic check in place: it is a condition of access, and an account that does not meet it is deleted as soon as we are told about it.
One account per person, with accurate information. You are responsible for your password and for what is done from your account; if you think someone has got into it, change your password (Settings → Password): every other session is then closed.
If you go through “Sign in with Apple” or “Sign in with Google”, the terms of those services apply to the sign-in itself.
3. What you post
Your messages, your photos, your voice messages and your texts stay yours. You grant us only the right to store them and to show them to the people you meant them for — the guests of the party, the person you are writing to, or whoever has the share link if you marked a photo as shareable. That right ends when you delete the content or your account. We use them for nothing else: no advertising, no model training, no reselling.
You agree not to post:
- illegal content: hate, harassment, threats, glorification of terrorism, child sexual abuse material, incitement to violence;
- the photo, the likeness or the words of someone who has not agreed to it — including another guest of the party;
- sexual content, or shocking content without a warning;
- someone’s contact details or address without their agreement, nor anything that belongs to their private life;
- content you do not hold the rights to (music, a photo, someone else’s work);
- advertising, solicitation, or anything automated.
A party is not a public space, but it is not a space without rules either: what you write there is read by real people.
4. Reporting, blocking
Two tools exist in the app, and both are two taps away:
- Report — from the menu on a message, on a photo, or from a person’s profile. The report reaches us with the reason and your comment.
- Block — from a person’s profile. You stop seeing each other, both ways, immediately.
We may take content down, close an access or delete an account that does not comply with these terms, and we do so without delay for clearly illegal content. You can challenge a decision by writing to support@amidami.app.
You can also report illegal content to us without going through the app, at the same address, telling us where it is and why you think it is illegal.
5. Invitations, and the share link
An invitation is by name: the host chooses who to invite. The host can also make a party “public”, and it then shows up in the “Discover” tab of other members, who can sign up for it. A party is private by default.
The host can also switch on a share link, to paste into a conversation. Whoever opens it sees the party and can answer without installing the app. That answer is a request, not an entry: it is the host who lets them in. Until the host has decided, that person has neither the address, nor the guest list, nor the chat. The host can switch the link off or change it at any time; the link stops working 30 days after the party.
As a host, you are responsible for the people you give that link to. Do not post it where anyone can read it.
6. The kitty
AmidAmi is not a payment service. The kitty is a tally book: everyone notes what they put in, the app adds it up and shows who paid what.
No amount goes through AmidAmi, no bank card is ever handed to it, and no commission is taken. The money moves between you, by the means you were already using.
The figures shown are the ones you enter: we do not check them and we guarantee nothing about them. A disagreement over an amount is settled between you.
7. Rides and car-sharing
“Who’s driving” is there to help friends get organised. AmidAmi is neither a transport service nor a car-sharing platform: it takes no part in any journey, checks neither licence nor insurance, and is party to no agreement between a driver and a passenger.
8. The service, as it is
AmidAmi is a young app, currently in testing with a first group of users. It is provided as is, with no guarantee of continuous availability nor of being free of errors. Features may change or disappear; changes that touch your data are announced in the app before they take effect.
We do what it takes not to lose any data, without being able to guarantee it. What matters to you — a photo you care about — deserves a copy somewhere else.
We cannot be held liable for what happens at the party itself: AmidAmi helps you organise it, it does not organise it.
9. Your data
Your personal data is used only to make the app work. The details — what is collected, why, with whom, for how long — are in the privacy policy.
10. Leaving
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account: deletion is immediate and final. What is erased, and what is not, is set out on the Delete my account page.
On our side, we may suspend or close an account if these terms are breached, or if the service shuts down — in which case we would give notice in advance. Every sanction is explained by email: the facts, the rule breached, the measure and its duration, and how to appeal ( support@amidami.app). A suspension blocks access until the date given; a ban is permanent. The decision is made by a person, never automatically.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. If there is a disagreement, write to us first: most are settled in one message. Failing that, the matter may be brought before the competent French courts. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring the matter before the court where you live.
AmidAmi is a free service, published on a non-professional basis: no sale is concluded through it. The French consumer mediation scheme, which only applies to businesses, is therefore not applicable, and no mediator is appointed.
We may change these terms. The version date is at the top of the page, and a significant change is announced in the app.
