Your account

Delete my account

Two ways to do it: in the app, in two screens, or by email if you no longer have it.

In the app, in two screens

Settings → Delete my account, at the bottom of the screen. A summary of what is about to be erased appears, you confirm, and it is done.

Deletion is immediate and final. No grace period, no form to fill in, no “are you sure” asked three times over to put you off. And no going back.

What is erased

Everything is erased for good, with no way back:

  • the parties you hosted, and their chats;
  • your photos and your contributions to other people’s parties;
  • your friends, your groups and your private messages;
  • your trophies and your recaps;
  • your open sessions, on every one of your devices;
  • the notification tokens of your devices.

The database is changed in a single block: either everything goes, or nothing is touched. There is no in-between state where half your account would have gone.

Your friends are not told.

What does not go with it

Two things remain, and it is better said before than after.

  • What other people wrote or took. A message a friend sent in their own party, a photo they took, an amount they noted down: that is their data, not yours. Your first name may appear in it if they mentioned you.
  • A report about you, if there is one, is kept so that the moderation can be dealt with, then erased 12 months after it is handled.

Your files — profile photo, cover photo of a party, images and voice messages — go with the rest, immediately: nothing stays in the server storage.

Technical backups and server logs follow their own cycle: 30 days at most for both. See the privacy policy.

If you no longer have the app

Phone lost, app uninstalled, password forgotten: write to support@amidami.app from the email address on your account, with “Delete my account” as the subject.

That address is the only thing we ask for: it is what proves the request comes from you, and it saves us asking you for an identity document. If you no longer have access to that inbox, say so in your message: we will look for another way to check, and we will never ask you for an official document by email.

We handle the request within one month at most, as the GDPR requires — in practice, much faster. You get a confirmation once it is done.

Did you answer an invitation without creating an account?

Then you have no account to delete. What exists of you — your first name, the email you may have given, your browser cookie — is erased automatically 30 days after the party. You can also ask for it right away at support@amidami.app, telling us which party it was and the first name you had given.

To delete the cookie without waiting, just clear the site data in your browser.

Just want a breather?

Deleting your account is not the only way out. In the app: Settings → Notifications turns notifications off, by type or all of them; Settings → Privacy makes your profile private; and you can block someone from their profile. None of that deletes anything.
