When the app crashes, we know — anonymously
Until now, when AmidAmi closed on its own, we only found out if someone took the time to write to us. From now on, the app keeps a report of what happened on your phone and sends it to us at the next launch.
That report is anonymous, and it goes to us alone: no third-party crash-reporting service is used. What is sent: the error type, its message cleaned on your phone before sending — email addresses, web addresses and digit sequences are removed from it — the call stack reduced to the lines of our own code, the short screen name, the app and system version, the device model and the language. Nothing else: not your account, not your parties, not your messages, not your location, not your IP address.
The switch is the one you already know: Settings → Anonymous statistics. Off, nothing more goes out — neither usage events nor crash reports — and whatever was waiting on your phone is erased.
The privacy policy used to say “no automatic crash report”. That is no longer true, so it has changed, in all three languages: it now describes exactly what is sent, why — fixing the app’s defects, and nothing else — and how long it is kept: 13 months for a report, 25 months for the counts that carry no identifier.
